OUR MISSION
UIBE is a community-based project designed to empower Black English-speaking entrepreneurs in Quebec to achieve their entrepreneurial goals.
Our mission is to create Economic Empowerment within our community by encouraging and promoting ownership through entrepreneurship.
If you are Black and English speaking with an interest in or already engaged in entrepreneurship, UIBE is the community for you!
THE UIBE PROJECT AIMS TO ACHIEVE ITS MISSION BY

Creating experiential and practical workshops that simulate the realities of entrepreneurship, but more importantly, being a Black English-speaking entrepreneur in Quebec.

Providing learning opportunities through courses and bootcamps.

Specially designed online programs offered by Ujamaa Initiative for Black Entrepreneurship (UIBE) and the Desta Black Youth Network (DBYN) delivered by Community Service Initiative (CSI) at the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University.
Bootcamps designed to provide Black English-speaking entrepreneurs with the tools to set up, grow, and manage their businesses successfully.At the end of the program, the participants would have successfully prepared a business plan that should assist them in obtaining the necessary financing for their businesses.
Loan-After-Care Program offering technical support and business counselling for Black entrepreneurs and business owners that have applied unsuccessfully for a FACE loan and who need assistance to improve their business plans, and/or provide missing information to reapply. -
The program explores various components of the entrepreneurial journey via the lens of other successful Black Entrepreneurs, who have been on that road before.
This series is offered in an online environment, where the Entrepreneur can learn and digest fresh bite-size gems at their own pace through pre-recorded material. -
The GrowthWheel Framework is a simple checklist that helps us and our participants have conversations about growing a business. The visual tool helps to quickly identify the most important Focus Areas and define decisions and actions the business should be working on.

Offering an environment that feels like home. A space to congregate and bounce ideas off like-minded individuals, where you can utilize the products/services and equipment available to help you with your business tasks.
